In the Spring of 2017, I was hand-picked to be part of a special topics course at CCAD, where a variety of different majors came together to complete a project concept for a real client- Airstream. Airstream is a luxury camper trailer brand based out of Jackson Center, OH, where my class took multiple trips to engage with the client, complete the factory tour, access their needs, and gain brand knowledge so we could deliver a successful project.
The task at hand was to create two spaces- a welcome center, that would host guests visiting for the factory tour, as well as guests waiting for the campers to be serviced. The second space would be a history center, a museum-like space for guests to learn of the brands founder and evolution over time. The space would be full of informational displays, along with memorabilia and 13 vintage, refurbished trailers on display.
The team was comprised of interior designers, industrial designers, illustrators, and graphic designers. Together, we modernized their aesthetic and created a holistic design that would allow Airstream fanatics from all over the world to come and enjoy, and receive the full Airstream experience.
I was specifically involved in the space planning of the welcome center, the cafe design, the interactive components in the lounge area, and the patio design.
